Family Resemblance

This piece represents 3 generations of english bulldogs. You know they didn't pose together  for this but they show well as a group, eh?  Family Resemblance is painted with pigment ink, and transparent heliographic paint on cotton, cotton/poly batting, cotton backing, poly threads.   The piece is fairly large ( approximately 38 x 44).

My Gentle Giant 'Ben'

This tender silverback was 4 years in the making as once painted ( ink on white cotton) , I loved him so, I had to deeply ponder the quilted texture plan. It was worth the wait, as Ben won The Master Award for Machine Artistry at The international Quilt Festival in Houston.  He is pigment ink on cotton, wool/poly batting, batik batting, poly threads.This piece is approximately 37 x 43"

Tiger Eyes

I've said before, I LOVE the power and beauty of big cats.  This small piece approx 16 x 20 is pigment ink on cotton, wool poly batting, batik backing. This particular piece resides in a private collection in Texas, tho I have a comparable piece yet to be quilted.

Long Winters Veil

This piece represent my feelings about how long the winter cold lasts at my mountain home . I have often said winter cold hangs in the air long beyond the calendar date ending winter.  The bird in this scene is a snow bunting, generally found in Alaska.  This piece measures 18 1/2" x 43". It is pigment ink own cotton, cotton batting, batik backing.

Red Lion

The RED LION is a smaller first of its kind giclee on fabric ( in this case SILK)   I had done a large  canvas oil painting of this magnificent animal.  The oil painting is in a private collection but I own the image rights and decided to approach a fine art printer in Arizona to giclee the painted image on silk.... then I quilted it for texture .  I LOVE this piece/ fine art approach.
This version measures approximately 12" by 12".

I've painted a number of BIG cats ( e.g. lions, tigers) but find the North American mountain lion of particular interest, likely because it is rather mysterious, seldom seen, but enormously powerful. 

This piece sold to a private collector. 

Summer Hunt

My fascination with the elusive mountain lion continues here as this cat stalks prey beneath this mountainous rock ledge.
